Rotavirus Stool Antigen

0c3987c1-kart_test

Intended Use

This test is used to detect qualitatively Rotavirus antigens in human stool samples. This test is an in vitro diagnostic assay for professional use.

General Information

Rotaviruses, enteric adenoviruses, calicivirus, astrovirus and small round viruses are some of the agents that cause infantile gastroenteritis. Among these rotaviruses are the most common and important agents, followed by adenoviruses. Rotaviruses are globally the leading cause of infantile diarrhea and severe gastroenteritis which may lead to hospitalization and child deaths. Because of rotavirus every year 25 million clinical applications are made, 2 million children are hospitalized and more than 600,000 children are lost worldwide

Procalcitonin

a24276c5-PCT

Intended Use

Procalcitonin Rapid Card Test is an in vitro diagnostic test to semi-quantitatively assess Procalcitonin in human serum samples. It can give results in less than 20 minutes. It is possible to obtain quantitative results when used with the card test reader, specially programmed for this test.

General Information

Procalcitonin, which is a peptide formed of 116 amino acids, is the precursor molecule of Calcitonin hormone. This molecule is secreted by thyroid, lung and intestine cells.  The amount of procalcitonin present in the circulatory system of healthy people is very much below the detection levels of clinical test methods. The level of Procalcitonin increases especially in response to a bacterial proinflamatory stimulus. No significant increase is observed during viral infections or non-infectious inflammations. Procalcitonin amount man increase up to 100 ng/ml due to serious infections and systematic response.

Measurement of procalcitonin levels are used as a marker of serious sepsis and levels of sepsis. Additionally, differentiating bacterial and viral infections and correct antibiotic treatment or preventing unnecessary antibiotic usage is its other advantages.

Helident, Helicobacter Pylori Urease Test

78628b8c-a4c2a1d7-helident

Intended Use

Helident is an in vitro diagnostic test which shows the presence of Helicobacter pylori in biopsy specimens of gastric mucosa depending on the bacteria’s urease activity. The results are obtained between 20 minutes and 2 hours depending on the intensity of the microorganism.

Test’s performance was evaluated as 95% sensitivity and 98% specificity.

General Information

Helicobacter pylori is a gram negative spiral shaped bacterium infecting stomach mucosa.
Epidemiological, experimental and clinical studies have showed that the microorganism acted in the pathogenesis of acute and chronic gastritis, chronic atrophic gastritis, intestinal metaplasia, peptic ulcer and cancer of the stomach.

Helident DRY, Helicobacter Pylori Urease Test

H. pylori Rapid Urease Test

Fastest and easiest way of detecting Helicobacter pylori from stomach biopsies

Helident DRY is an in-vitro diagnostic test to detect the presence of Helicobacter pylori in stomach biopsy specimens. Helident DRY;

is FAST: Positive results can come in minutes. Negative results are reported in 60 minutes.

is EASY: There is no complicated procedure. Just place the biopsy and wait.

has LONG SHELF LIFE: Can be stored up to 24 months.

is stable at ROOM TEMPERATURE: Refrigeration is not required.

is SAFE: A positive control is supplied to confirm negative results.

is COST EFFECTIVE: Costs less compared to other biopsy tests.

Principle of the test

Helident DRY was developed in order to detect the urease activity of H. pylori in stomach biopsy specimens. Urease in the biopsy specimen catalyzes hydrolysis of urea present in the test device. This reaction produces ammonia which leads to an increase in pH of the medium. Increased pH turns the color of the indicator ring from yellow to reddish/pinkish color. The formula of the reaction is as follows:

Urea + Water → Carbon dioxide + Ammonia

(NH2)2CO + H2O → CO2 + 2NH3

Test procedure

Peel the label to uncover the specimen well.

Place the biopsy specimen(s) on the yellow pad.

Reseal the well with the label.

Press your finger against the plastic button to squeeze the specimen underneath.

Follow the reaction frequently within 60 minutes.

Note the results.

H-FABP

Intended Use

0c3987c1-kart_test

This test detects Heart-Type Fatty Acid Binding Protein (H-FABP) in human serum samples. This test is an in vitro diagnostic assay for professional use.

General Information

Acute Myocardial Infarction (AMI) is one of the leading causes of sudden deaths. Measuring the levels of some biochemical agents has been successfully used for diagnosis of AMI yet early diagnosis of AMI remains to be a major problem.

Serum levels of agents like myoglobin, CK-MB and cardiac Troponin I are commonly measured to diagnose AMI. However, since these cardiac proteins rise not before the first 3-6 hours of AMI occurrence they usually do not give satisfactory results for early diagnosis.

H-FABP is a low molecular weight (15 kDa) protein found abundantly in myocardial cell cytoplasm. The protein enters the circulation after myocardial injury. Latest studies show that H-FABP levels rise more rapidly than other cardiac necrosis agents.
