This test is used to detect qualitatively in human serum samples the total antibodies directed against Helicobacter pylori. This test is an in vitro diagnostic assay for professional use.

Helicobacter pylori is a gram negative spiral shaped bacterium infecting stomach mucosa

Epidemiological, experimental and clinical studies have showed that the microorganism acted in the pathogenesis of acute and chronic gastritis, chronic atrophic gastritis, intestinal metaplasia, peptic ulcer and cancer of the stomach.
