Helident DRY, Helicobacter Pylori Urease Test

H. pylori Rapid Urease Test

Fastest and easiest way of detecting Helicobacter pylori from stomach biopsies

Helident DRY is an in-vitro diagnostic test to detect the presence of Helicobacter pylori in stomach biopsy specimens. Helident DRY;

is FAST: Positive results can come in minutes. Negative results are reported in 60 minutes.

is EASY: There is no complicated procedure. Just place the biopsy and wait.

has LONG SHELF LIFE: Can be stored up to 24 months.

is stable at ROOM TEMPERATURE: Refrigeration is not required.

is SAFE: A positive control is supplied to confirm negative results.

is COST EFFECTIVE: Costs less compared to other biopsy tests.

Principle of the test

Helident DRY was developed in order to detect the urease activity of H. pylori in stomach biopsy specimens. Urease in the biopsy specimen catalyzes hydrolysis of urea present in the test device. This reaction produces ammonia which leads to an increase in pH of the medium. Increased pH turns the color of the indicator ring from yellow to reddish/pinkish color. The formula of the reaction is as follows:

Urea + Water → Carbon dioxide + Ammonia

(NH2)2CO + H2O → CO2 + 2NH3

Test procedure

Peel the label to uncover the specimen well.

Place the biopsy specimen(s) on the yellow pad.

Reseal the well with the label.

Press your finger against the plastic button to squeeze the specimen underneath.

Follow the reaction frequently within 60 minutes.

Note the results.
