Intended Use

Helident is an in vitro diagnostic test which shows the presence of Helicobacter pylori in biopsy specimens of gastric mucosa depending on the bacteria’s urease activity. The results are obtained between 20 minutes and 2 hours depending on the intensity of the microorganism.

Test’s performance was evaluated as 95% sensitivity and 98% specificity.

General Information

Helicobacter pylori is a gram negative spiral shaped bacterium infecting stomach mucosa.
Epidemiological, experimental and clinical studies have showed that the microorganism acted in the pathogenesis of acute and chronic gastritis, chronic atrophic gastritis, intestinal metaplasia, peptic ulcer and cancer of the stomach.
